Humans are the only creatures born

with the tongues, mouths, teeth and voice

that allow them to make strange noises 

to communicate hundreds of different emotions

in thousands of different languages

to millions of different people

because there are Words.

Words that wise men speak that can gather a country together.

Words that politicians wield in their battles for leadership.

Words that a parent use to comfort her ailing child.

Words that can build a person up and make him feel like he's at the top of the world.

But yet,

it is the very same Words that make it

so easy to tear and break a person into

chunks, rocks, pebbles, dirt, sand and finally dust

simply because Words made it so easy

to capture a person's soul 

to break a person's heart

and to make a person feel like he is in the deepest depths of hell.

But the worst kind of Words are the ones left unspoken.
