Caged

Shiny bars of gold in the backdrop,
The mix of seeds at the dish beckoning to be eaten.
A basin of sparkling water winking at the stars.
The tiny swing dancing with the breeze.

The lonely chirp tried to make itself known,
Only echoes answered her prayers.
The newspapers hidden at the bottom cry out in pain.
As an injured claw moved closer to warmth.

The wind messed with her feathers.
Stars began to tear,
And their huge fat teardrops trickle down the leaves' faces.
Lady moon only hid her eyes.

A last cry sounded faintly,
While a feather falls to the ground.
