Broken
This bad habit of mine,
You will never find.
It’s a habit of containment,
That is all mine.

The walls built around me,
Hid me deep inside.
Though I’d like to hide from view,
You never let me try.

You try to strip me,
Of my wall built of stones.
Wanting to coax out,
The cover for my soul.

Your sky-blue eyes,
Searching deep within me.
Hoping just to find,
A crack to begin.

You spotted a crevice,
That I tried to conceal from you.
But your razor-sharp eyes caught it.
Though I hate to reveal.

You slowly opened the gap,
That gave you a view of my heart.
You looked and strike it,
Shattering it into halves.

The heart of mine,
Was now once again,
Broken, the second time.
